assembly order

Post by KlabauterR » Mon Oct 13, 2014 6:23 pm

Some other interesting question refering to assembly order:

Ducky 17 operating manual says to raise the mast first. Then you have to pull the float frame cables.
How important is it to keep this order?
What will go wrong, when you do it the other way round?

All togehther you have to pull 4 float frame cables at both sterns.
Why is there no need to synchronize the tractive force of the 4 cables?

There is no big difference in what sequence to pull a cable. If you pull a cable before a mast raising, then longitudinal beams (Stringers), and together with them and hulls, will be bent by the ends down. It will be not the best form of hulls. But if to do it after a mast raising, then moderately pulling a cable, it is possible to keep longitudinal beams (Stringers) straight lines. Such form of cases will possess the best hydrodynamics. As a result the speed of a catamaran will be a little bigger. It is one of elements of the correct control of a catamaran.

There is no need to pull everything a cables at the same time.

Hello Vitaly,

thanks for answering.

Perhaps at the end a misunderstanding. I wanted to know why there is no need to pull all cables with the same power? Because estimating the power will probably result in different tractive forces on each cable.

Such requirement is, but it not such important. Small deviations in different tractive forces on each cable are admissible.
Sorry, but my english is not good.
